Grey Area, by filmmaker and photographer Lane Stewart, is a collection of images created between 2018 and 2025, spanning a period of nomadic living when the concept of home remained perpetually elusive. Materialized in Stewart’s own spaces throughout this period, these works give shape and reflect an emotional gravity, through their tension of light and shadow. An interior pull between intimacy and distance and proposes that solace is found not in certainty, but in the grey areas of identity, belonging, and becoming.
